Putting It Together
Follow the steps below to put together your completed pages into a pop-up book:
The pages of the book are closed and glued back to back. The pages need to be in the correct sequence with the last page on the bottom and the first page at the top of the stack. Glue the backs of the pages together with glue stick or glue. Stand the book up and let the pages dry open for awhile. |
Another piece of paper is folded and then glued around the front, spine, and back of the book to create a cover. Don't forget the illustration, title, and author/paper engineer's name on the cover. |
Students can use various writing processes (POWER, webs, thinking charts, etc.) If computers are available, the students can type the text for their books or the text can be written directly into the book. I like the professional look. Parent volunteers could also help type the completed text. Text could also be cut out of magazines or newspapers and glued in place. |
